AGRICULTURE & ALLIED SECTORS, FOOD AND ENVIRONMENT

Haryana is primarily an agricultural state, with about 70% of residents engaged in agriculture. The state is self-sufficient in food production and the second largest contributor to India’s central pool of food grains. However, there is a need to acknowledge the hurdles in the agriculture sector and empower our farmers with the necessary tools and support. From diminishing water resources and soil degradation to unpredictable weather patterns and market fluctuations, we aim to mitigate the challenges that impact agricultural productivity, livelihoods and the environment. The discussions on Agriculture & Allied Sectors, Food, and the Environment shall foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and envisioning a greener future. Our stakeholders from diverse backgrounds shall join us in exploring innovative solutions, identifying challenges, and formulating strategies that will shape the agriculture sector, ensure food security, and safeguard our environment for generations to come. By working together, we shall sow the seeds of sustainable agriculture, nurture a resilient food system, and cultivate an environment that sustains life and prosperity.
